This project allows for a very broad execution in terms of possibilities. However, I’ve decided to explore a particular interpretation of the assignment that mixes several different topics. I was particularly inspired by the video Love by Molly Lowe which included several different techniques of representation (for example: the masks or the black suit). What I liked the most about this use of different visuals was how they worked together towards a unified theme. I’d like to do the same with my video while incorporating different shooting and editing techniques.

I plan on creating a video with an underlying narrative that is carried through different visual methods. I want a big part of this video to heavily use misappropriations of editing tools. I also want to use a mixture of programs and techniques that are to be used in a way in which they’re typically not. For example, I have experimented using the Content Aware Scaling tool in Photoshop for videos rather than images. The result is a much distorted view of the original video. I plan on doing quite a few things like this in order to create unique visuals and abstractions. A big part of the style that I will be trying to convey is similar to that of the “glitch art” movement.
